According to ABS-CBN News with sportscaster Dyan Castillejo giving live updates on Twitter, the game went 0-0 in the halftime.

James Younghusband made a goal via a penalty with about 10 minutes remaining, but Myanmar scored a goal, to tie the game (1-1).

The Philippine Azkals lost against the Mongolia Blue Wolves (1-2) on Tuesday, March 15, for the pre-qualifying round AFC Challenge Cup, which was held in Ulan Bator, Mongolia.

Despite the loss, Azkals have managed to advance to the AFC Challenge Cup group stage via a victory against Mongolia (3-2), which was held at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City, Philippines last February 9.

In the said football match, Azkals’ midfielder Phil Younghusband had injured himself, and may not be able to play for 3 to 4 weeks, who told ABS-CBN News he is confident the team can still win without him.

Phil Younghusband was replaced by Filipino-Spanish Angel Aldeguer, who will play for Azkals for the first time, with the recent match against Myanmar as his first game.

The last Philippine Azkals-Myanmar football match went into a draw (0-0) held AFF Suzuki Cup back in December 2010.

The Philippine football team will also compete against Palestine and Bangladesh, on March 23 and March 25, respectively, 2011, with all the games to be held at the Thuwana Stadium in Yangon, Myamar’s capital.
