Philippine Azkals lost to Kuwait Al-Azraq on second leg for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers

Manila, Philippines – The Philippine Azkals lost to Al-Azraq of Kuwait, 2-1 (5-1 on aggregate) on Thursday, July 28, 2011 during the second leg for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

As shown live at ABS-CBN ANC Channel, which started at around 7:30 p.m. (local time), Kuwait’s Al-Azraq won against the Philippine Azkals which was held at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.

The first Philippine Azkals vs Kuwait match was also won by Kuwait (3-0), which was held at in Mohammad Al-Hammad stadium in Hawally last Saturday, July 23, 2011.

For the second meeting, Azkals Midfielder Stephan Schrock hit a goal in the 48th minute before the first half ended, as the Filipino crowd went wild for their first score, 1-0, but they need at least 4-0 to win the game.

Later, one of the Al-Azraq players Fahad Al Ebrahim has been thrown out after a heated encounter challenge against Chieffy Caligdong.

However, Kuwait’s Yousef Nasser scored a goal on the 63rd minute to equalize the game, 1-1, while Waleed Ali made a breakaway run in the 84th minute and eventually completed a goal, 2-1.
