Elin Nordegren, ex-wife of Tiger Woods finally speaks up for the first time after her divorce with golf icon Tiger Woods. After nine months of being quiet, she had an exclusive interview with People magazine.

In an interview on NBC’s Today show on Wednesday morning, People magazine reporter Sandra Sobieraj Westfall said Nordegren and her team approached the magazine.

Westfall said Nordegren wanted people to know three things; that she’s not violent and never hit Woods; she had no idea what was going on; and it was a real marriage for her.

During the interview, she said that they (she and Tiger) tried for months to reconcile the relationship. But in the end, a marriage “without trust and love” wasn’t good for anyone, she said.

However, she denied that she hit Woods on the night of the car crash.

“There was never any violence inside or outside our home,” she said. “The speculation that I would have used a golf club to hit him is just truly ridiculous.”

“I have been through the stages of disbelief and shock, to anger and ultimately grief over the loss of the family I so badly wanted for my children.”

“I’ve been through hell. It’s hard to think you have this life, and then all of a sudden – was it a lie? You’re struggling because it wasn’t real. But I survived. It was hard, but it didn’t kill me.”

“I also feel stronger than I ever have. I have confidence in my beliefs, my decisions and myself.”

“My immediate plan is for the kids and me to continue to adjust to our new situation. I am going to keep taking classes, but my main focus is to try to give myself time to heal,” she added.

Nordegren said she would eventually come to forgive Woods but that she is still working on it.

“Forgiveness takes time. It is the last step of the grieving process.”

Nordegren would not mention the amount of the divorce settlement but she said that “money can’t buy happiness or put my family back together.”

She also tells the magazine this was her first and last interview, as that she intends to remain as a private person.

According to the magazine, the interview was conducted over four visits lasting a total of 19 hours at the rented home at Windermere, Florida, where Elin now lives with her two children.”

The whole interview, together with exclusive photos of Nordegren at home, will be seen in the latest issue of People magazine this week.
