As reported at British news sites on Friday, London Zoo opened the biggest penguin pool in England dubbed as “Penguin Beach“, where penguins are being pampered in their new home.

Apparently, London Zoo had its original penguin pool built in 1934, but was closed eight years ago after experts declared it as not suitable anymore for the penguins.

Today, the new penguin pool was said to be nearly five times bigger than the original one and is three times deeper, which is now about 2 meters deep.

As noted at Daily Mail, this penguin pool has an area of 13,000 square feet and can be filled with 100,000 gallons of water, where around 200-strong colony of penguin can fit in.

Interestingly, London Zoo visitors can also watch the penguins swim under the pool through the underwater viewing area, as about 65 penguins have started to be moved in.
