Passenger has baby on Flight, Gives Birth While on Plane

A passenger has given birth while on a plane flying from Russia to Armenia, and named her child after the flight attendant, according to SFGate reports, January 13, 2013.

According to reports, 31-year-old passenger Armina Babayan gave birth two hours before the Armavia Airlines flight from Siberia landed in Yerevan, capital of Armenia.

Asmik Gevondyan, the flight attendant who helped the passenger said she noticed Babayan appeared to be in labor and organized the delivery.

“All of our crew helped to deliver the baby,” Gevondyan mentioned in a statement.

Moreover, reports said Babayan claimed to be 6-and-half months pregnant during check-in.

Armavia is the Armenia‘s flag carrier with its head office on the grounds of Zvartnots International Airport in Zvartnots, Armenia, near Yerevan. It operates international passenger services from Yerevan to destinations in Europe and Asia, according to reports.
