PAGASA Tropical Storm Falcon (Bagyong Falcon) update as of 5 pm June 23

Manila, Philippines – As of 5 p.m. (local time), Thursday, June 23, 2011, tropical storm Falcon has merged with the low pressure area (LPA) and intensified a little as it moves northwestward.

In line with this, Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued Public Storm Signal No. 1 on some parts of Luzon.

According to PAGASA weather update as of 4 p.m. (local time), Thursday, June 23, 2011, tropical storm Falcon is at 420 km East of Casiguran, Aurora, Quezon.

As noted at PAGASA official website, Bagyong Falcon (international name: Meari) has a maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph, and moving Northwest at 15 kph.

Meanwhile, PAGASA issued Public Storm Signal No. 1 to Aurora, Albay, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Isabela, Cagayan, Calayan, Babuyan Group of Islands and Batanes Group of Islands.
