Paranaque light plane crash causes fire in residential area, affecting homes and school (Photo)

Manila, Philippines – A light plane crashed on Saturday, December 10, 2011 in a residential area in Paranaque City (or Parañaque)and caused huge fire, as shown in the photo below.

According to local news sites that day, a Queen Air light aircraft hit a house or a building at around 2:40 p.m. in Barangay Don Bosco after it has just made a take-off and was bound to San Jose, Mindoro.

As noted in reports, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) head Ramon Gutierrez said that the light plane had a body number RPC824 and is owned by Innovators Technology Inc. (ITI).

Meanwhile, Paranaque City Mayor Florencio Bernabe told reports that the plane crashed in Taiwan Street, Annex 35, Better Living Subdivision, causing fire on a lot of houses and a primary school.

The fire has has been raised to Task Force Alpha or Alert level # 5, with the pilot reportedly requested to go back to Runway 1331 but went into the the emergency landing due to mechanical failure.

In a GMA News post were witnesses submitted photos of the incident, F. Serrano Elem School has also been affected in the fire, with additional fire fighters rushed to the area.

On the latest ABS-CBN update, fire fighters are still on the crash area and there are now 13 casualties, including 8 children and hundreds of houses affected, with the plane’s pilots identified as Timoteo Aldo and Jessie Kim Lustica.
