According to ABS-CBN News, PAL Airbus A320 flight PR 124, carrying more than 90 passengers was scheduled to leave at 6:55 am (local time) this morning got stuck in the mud while it was slowly running and about to take off.

Apparently, the left wheel of the airplane fell off the runway and paralyzed the flight, which is supposed to fly to Manila, and passengers were requested to get off the plane and wait at the pre-departure area.

Although no one was hurt in the said incident, Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Capt. Amado Soliman told the report that the airport was closed to all air traffic since 7:05 am (local time).

In relation to the said incident, two other domestic flight were reportedly affected, including Cebu Pacific flights 5J 852 (Zamboanga-Manila) and 5J 851 (Manila-Zamboanga).

Meanwhile, Zamboanga International Airport Manager Celso Bayabos said that an alleged ‘pilot miscalculation’ is still investigated by PAL management, but emphasized that this was the first time a plane was stuck in the mud.

As of this writing, there were no reports as to what happened to the delayed flight and the status of the stranded passengers.
