PAGASA Weather Update: Low Pressure Area Now A Tropical Depression Named Dodong

According to Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA)’s latest weather bulletin issued at 12:00pm today, Philippine time, the low pressure area (LPA) located west of Metro Manila has already developed into a tropical depression and was named Dodong.

According to the weather bulletin, tropical depression Dodong‘s center was located at 60 km southwest of Iba, Zambales as of 11:00am today. It has a maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and moves north northwest at 15 kph.

Public storm signal number 1 is raised on the following areas:

  • Bataan
  • Pampanga
  • Tarlac
  • Zambales
  • Pangasinan
  • Cavite
  • Metro Manila

Residents in areas under signal number 1 are being alerted against possible landslides and flashfloods. Furthermore, Dodong is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon, bringing rains over the western sections of Central and Southern Luzon.
