PAGASA Weather Forecasts: Albay and Bicol Region will experience more rains

MANILA, Philippines – Based on the extended weather forecast issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administrator (PAGASA), more rain will be experienced in the province of Albay on Thursday, January 6, 2011 until Friday, January 7, 2011.

Residents should expect heavy rainfall in Albay and other parts of the Bicol region brought about by the tail end of a cold front, according to Department of Science and Technology Undersecretary (DOST) Dr Graciano Yumul during an interview with DZMM radio this afternoon, January 3, 2011.

The local government of Albay is already informing residents of a preemptive evacuation plan before the heavy rainfall that is expected to cause flooding in many areas.

PAGASA has not provided any warning signal because there is no existing or upcoming storm in the country. According to PAGASA, Legazpi City in Albay has already experienced at least 127.4mm of rain since December 29 and another 196.7mm is the following day.
