PAGASA Weather Forecast: Storm Sendong to Affect 15 Southern Areas

PAGASA latest weather update on December 16, 2011 indicates that tropical storm Sendong was spotted at 300 km East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur. Storm Sendong is reportedly moving with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center with gustiness of up to 80 kph. PAGASA weather forecast storm Sendong to move West Northwest at 24 kph.

Storm Sendong prompted PAGASA to raise public storm warning signal number two in fifteen areas in Visayas and Mindanao. According to PAGASA, Sendong is expected to make a landfall on Friday afternoon.

PAGASA weather forecast estimates that storm Sendong will bring 10 to 25 millimeters per hour of rainfall within 400-km diameter. The weather bureau expects Sendong to be 120 kms east southeast of Dumaguete City by Saturday morning, and 40 kms east of Puerto Princesa City by Sunday morning.
