It will be a rainy week in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, according to the latest Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather update.

PAGASA weather forecast revealed that the southwest monsoon and a low pressure area off the coast of Zambales will bring unpredictable rains in Luzon.

The provinces on the western seaboard will be mostly affected by intermittent rainshowers until Wednesday due to the monsoon and the weather disturbance in the South China Sea.

An Inquirer report said that PAGASA forecast the southwest monsoon to intensify and bring rains every two to three hours especially on the western side of Luzon.

A low pressure area was spotted about 390 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales as shown on Sunday’s 2 pm satellite image from PAGASA.

PAGASA will release its next bulletin 5 am on Monday, May 30, 2011.
