PAGASA Typhoon Pedring update as of 5 pm Sept 26, Metro Manila now under Public Storm Signal No. 2

Manila, PhilippinesPAGASA now raised Public Storm Signal No. 2 in Metro Manila and Public Storm Signal No. 3 in some areas in Luzon and Bicol region due to typhoon ‘Pedring’.

According to PAGASA on their 5 pm update on Monday, September 26, 2011, typhoon ‘Pedring’ has slightly intensified as it continues to threaten Isabela-Aurora area.

PAGASA said that typhoon ‘Pedring’ is at 260 km East Southeast of Casiguran, Aurora as of 4 pm (local time) on Monday and is being estimated to move West Northwest at 19 kph.

Typhoon ‘Pedring’ was noted to have maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center with a gustiness of up to 160 kph and being expected to make landfall over Casiguran, Aurora on Tuesday morning and will be in the vicinity of Baguio City in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, PAGASA raised Public Storm Signal No. 3 in Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Northern Quezon, Polillo Island, Aurora, Quirino and Isabela.

On the other hand, Public Storm Signal No. 2 was raised to Albay, Burias Island, Sorsogon, Rest of Quezon, Rizal, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Ifugao, Benguet, Mt. Province, Kalinga, Cagayan and Metro Manila.

Moreover, Public Storm Signal No. 1 is for Ticao Island, Masbate, Marinduque, Batangas, Cavite, Bataan, Laguna, Pampanga, Zambales, Tarlac, Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Abra, Apayao, Calayan, Babuyan Group of Islands and Northern Samar.
