According to Philippines local news, June 29, 2011, the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather, may happen in 2012. This comes as Floyd Mayweather Jr., confirmed to Pacquiao fans in an interview that he wants to fight the 8-division world champion. Pacquiao, on the other hand, is ready for the fight anytime Mayweather is ready.

Floyd Mayweather Jr, will fight Victor Ortiz on September 17, 2011 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas for the WBC Welterweight title. Mayweather was previously named the “number one” pound-for-pound boxer in the world and has been undefeated in his professional boxing career up to the present.

Manny Pacquiao, also known as Pacman, will go against Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12, 2011 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas for the WBO world title. Pacquiao who is acknowledged presently by most sports sites as the “pound-for-pound best boxer in the world,” as well.

Reportedly, the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight would finally settle between the two who the true pound-for-pound best boxer in the world is. Boxing fans also stated that the fight is the most awaited fight in boxing history.
