As noted at US news sites that day, Filipino world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao and challenger Juan Manuel Marquez had their official weigh in at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

According to reports, Marquez weighed 142 lbs while Pacquiao weighed 143 lbs., which was witnessed by around 5,500 people, including boxing commentators Max Kellerman, Emanuel Steward and Harold Lederman.

Freddie Roach, Pacquiao‘s trainer, reportedly said it was the “lightest weight of Pacquiao since he fought against Ricky Hatton in 2009, and his “best fighting weight” is at 148-149 lbs.

Meanwhile, latest predictions revealed that Manny Pacquiao will beat Juan Manuel Marquez on their third fight and some even predicted that Pacquiao will win via TKO. Below are some of them.

“I think Pacquiao wins a 10th round TKO on cuts but Marquez will make him earn it and I think Manny will show some decline in this fight.” Boxing Scene staff Michael Doss wrote at

“The fight won’t last longer than 3 rounds – Pacquiao is just too big, too strong and too fast as compared to Marquez.” Boxing Scene staff Thomas Schlabe was quoted as saying.

Pacquiao TKO 9 – This fight will not be resemble the first two in any way, shape or form.” Boxing Scene staff Thomas Gerbasi wrote.

Meanwhile, some boxing experts were quoted as telling that 38-year old Marquez will be much too slow for the younger Pacquiao, who will turn 33 this coming December 17.

Marquez‘s added weight is also being noted to make him more difficult to move faster than Pacquiao, whose speed inside the ring is notably among his top assets.

The first Pacquiao-Marquez fight back in 2004 ended up in a controversial draw, while their second encounter four years later was won by Pacquiao via split decision.

The Pacquiao vs Marquez III fight will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011 (Sunday, November 13, Manila time) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
