Mike Tyson led the honor of paying the traditional boxing tribute to Joe Frazier during the Pacquiao vs. Marquez 3 fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, as announced by several international news sites, November 12, 2011.

According to reports, when one of the legends of the boxing sport passes, a custom of holding a silent count before a fight as the bell tolls up to 10 is being performed as a sign of tribute for a lifetime spent in and around the squared circle.

Joseph William “Joe” Frazier, popularly known as “Smokin’ Joe”, passed away on Monday after a battle with liver cancer. Mike Tyson, who did the ringing of the bell for the 10 count, is apparently often compared to the legendary Smokin’ Joe Frazier for having similar boxing style.

Boxing fans were surely touched to see one great heavyweight paying homage to another.
