Ottawa Bluesfest stage collapses during Cheap Tricks concert (Video)

The main stage at the Ottawa Bluesfest music festival in Ontario, Canada collapsed on Sunday, July 17, 2011 while the band Cheap Tricks is performing a concert, as shown in the news video below.

According to Canadian news sites, the Bluesfest stage collapsed at around 7:20 p.m. (Canada time) on Sunday due to severe bad weather, with no reported casualties.

Cheap Tricks, an American rock band known for their songs “Surrender” and “I Want You To Want Me“, wrote on their official Facebook page, saying that all band members are unharmed and safe.

“Everyone is shaken up but band and crew are all fine. Cheap Trick hopes that everyone who attended the show is also ok.” Cheap Tricks wrote on Facebook, moments after the stage collapsed.

Meanwhile, paramedics reportedly treated two people on the scene of the incident immediately while three others were rushed to hospitals.

However, Ottawa Fire Services spokesman Marc Messier noted that one of them is a 49-year-old man who was in serious condition with abdominal, pelvic and leg injuries.
