According to US news sites on Monday, a US official said Osama bin Laden’s body was brought to Afghanistan and has been buried at sea but did not elaborate further.

Nevertheless, U.S. officials told CNN that they used facial imaging to make sure that it was really Osama bin Laden and a lot of confirmations were made before he was buried.

However, there were no reports that DNA testing was performed to the body, as reports said that the al-Qaeda founder was shot in the head.

Reports also say that the operation which killed Bin Laden was performed in such a way that no civilian shall be harmed, as he was said to be staying in a mansion in Pakistan.

Earlier, US President Barack Obama announced that Osama bin Laden was killed by US forces in Abbottabad, Pakistan, with no Americans harmed.

“I can report to the American people and to the world that the United States has conducted an operation that has killed Osama bin Laden,” President Obama said, adding that ‘justice has been done’.
