Oprah Winfrey supports Obama’s re-election campaign to raise $5 million in Chicago, Atlanta

Oprah Winfrey joined other wealthy donors in helping President Barack Obama to raise more than $5 million for his re-election campaign, as announced by several international news sites, March 17, 2012.

According to reports, President Obama is currently very active in raising financial resources with fundraisers in his adopted hometown of Chicago and then Atlanta.

Obama apparently arrived in Chicago and went on to Atlanta wherein he had dinner for about 40 people including Oprah Winfrey at the home of actor and film producer Tyler Perry.

Reports reveal that the money will go to the Obama Victory Fund, a joint account for the president’s campaign organization and the Democratic National Committee. Obama raised $140 million for his re-election campaign through the end of January, Federal Election Commission reports show.
