As noted on US news sites that day, Oprah promoted herself at the CEO of OWN and will also be its creative officer effective this fall, and brought along her two assistants of her former talk show.

“I am ready to dedicate my full creative energy and focus as the full-time CEO of OWN,” Winfrey was quoted in a released statement, with Christina Norman being dismissed as CEO early last May.

Former Fox chief and present Discovery Communications CEO Peter Liguori replaced Norman, and became OWN interim CEO, as OWN reportedly suffered from low ratings since its launch last January.

Meanwhile, Oprah noted that Harpo Productions co-presidents Erik Logan and Sheri Salata will also be OWN presidents effective immediately, with Logan to be based in L.A while Salata will remain based in Chicago.

Erik Logan and Sheri Salata, presidents of Harpo today will bring their unique partnering leadership into alignment with the network.” Oprah said on her official Facebook page.

“So as of today… Harpo Team and OWN team become ONE.” Oprah added, noting that Rosie O’Donnell’s talk show in Chicago will be launched this coming October.

In addition, Oprah said that all future television production at Harpo Studios in Chicago, the venue of her former talk show, will be directed exclusively to OWN.
