The US Marshals Service seized the diamond from Monea who was convicted of money laundering and conspiracy. The businessman tried to sell the diamond together with a 25,000-square-foot mansion for $19.5 million and a boat.

Bid4Assets will auction the diamond for the US Marshals Service. Jenny Lynch, spokeswoman of Bid4Assets, described the yellow diamond as flawless. “This is the largest and most valuable diamond that we have auctioned in our company’s 12-year history,” revealed Lynch.

According to the Ohio Marshals Service, the proceeds of the auction will be shared by the victims in the Monea case, the federal government, state and local agencies who helped in the investigation.
