As noted at Telegraph on Sunday, President Obama joked that he has been motivated to run again for president in 2012 so his daughters will be under armed guards and be away from boys.

“I understand that teenage-hood is complicated,” the US President reportedly told ABC, apparently talking about being a father to his two daughters, Malia, 12, and Sasha, 10.

“I should also point out that I have men with guns that surround them, and a great incentive for running for re-election is that it means they never get in the car with a boy…” Obama joked, adding that he will work hard for his reelection campaign.

Obama, who grew up barely knowing his father, announced on Sunday, Father’s Day that his administration supports strong fatherhood.

Earlier that day, President Obama treated his daughters to ice cream and they went to Thomas Sweet, an ice cream shop in Georgetown, Washington, along with his niece and nephew.

Apparently, both Obama daughters flew to South Africa on Monday with their mother, Michelle, as the US First Lady made her official visit to inspire the African youth.
