Obama Impeachment 2013: Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst Makes CallBy Alex Jusi Madlangbayan on Oct 17, 2013 in International, Politics •
Impeachment of US President Barack Obama was raised by Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst on Monday, October 14, 2013.
The call for Obama‘s impeachment was made by Dewhurst during one of his campaign.
According to Dewhurst, the 2014 governor’s election race “is about protecting you and your freedoms, which are given to you by God, but which are being trampled on by Barack Obama right now. I don’t know about you, but Barack Obama ought to be impeached. Not only for trampling on our liberties, but what he did in Benghazi is just a crime.”
When Observer clarified Dewhurst‘s statement, the second-highest elected official in Texas said that he “think this president, Barack Obama, has disregarded federal law. He’s tried to do things which are not authorized under federal law, such as with immigration, such as not following our federal drug laws. He’s created winners and losers out of Obamacare where he has no authority, such as allowing for the unions and big businesses to postpone their mandates for a year.”
Dewhurst lost the Republican nomination to run for the US Senate in 2012. Ted Cruz got the party’s nod and went on to win a Senate seat.
