US President Barack Obama has officially launched his re-election bid for the 2012 US Presidential Elections by posting a video on his website and by sending e-mail to supporters.

Obama is expected to utilize again his online network of millions of Americans that has been the key to his successful campaign in 2008.

Reports say that the Obama 2012 re-election campaign could raise as much as $1billion (£620m) compared to his 2008 campaign of $750million, according to analysts estimates.
