Nokia unveils N9 smartphone “pure touch screen”, announces three new phones (Video)

Nokia unveiled the N9 smartphone on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, being marketed as “pure touch screen” and all it takes is a swipe, as shown in the demo video below.

As noted by Nokia on its official website on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, the N9 smartphone was unveiled at the Nokia Connection event in Singapore that day.

Apparently, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop spoke on the said event about the N9 smartphone which he noted to be launched later this year including its price and availability.

“We have shifted our organization. We have a new strategy and we are focused on delivering results.” Elop reportedly said, which was also broadcast online.

“Innovation is at the heart of our strategy and today we took important steps to demonstrate a new pace of innovation at Nokia.” Elop added.

According to Nokia, N9 smartphone has a memory of 1024MB RAM, 16GB/64GB storage, a display of Display: 3.9″ WVGA and will run the MeeGo operating system.

In addition, N9 smartphone measures 116.45 mm x 61.2 mm x 7.6–12.1 mm, weighs 135 grams, with its camera to be 8Mpix auto-focus Carl Zeiss and has a Video playback of up to 4.5 hours.

Nevertheless, Nokia also unveiled three new phones; the Nokia C2-02, Nokia C2-03 and Nokia C2-06, with the first two phones estimated to be $105 and the third one to be around $112.

These three new Nokia phones were said to be released the third quarter of 2011, along with the N9 smartphone.
