Nokia Lumia 610 smartphone unveiled, Lumia 900 DC-HSPA now global, prices revealed

Nokia officially unveiled on Monday, February 27, 2012 its latest smartphone, the Nokia Lumia 610; and also announced that Nokia Lumia 900 will go global, which was unveiled at the CES 2012 last month.

According to a press release by Nokia on its official website that day, the new Lumia 610, which is Nokia‘s fourth Windows Phone, was unveiled at the 2012 Mobile World Congress (MWC) trade show in Barcelona, Spain.

As noted in the report, the Nokia Lumia 610 is designed as the perfect introduction to Windows Phone for a younger audience, and promises to provide instant access to social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.

Nokia noted that the Lumia 610 model would be priced at 189 euros (around $254), excluding subsidies and taxes, which is being considered to be an affordable smartphone, is expected to begin shipping in the second quarter of 2012.

The Nokia Lumia 610, which sports a 3-megapixel camera and a 3.2-inch display and can be used to browse the Web with Internet Explorer as well as access games at Xbox Live, will be available in white, cyan, black, and magenta.

Meanwhile, Nokia also revealed that Lumia 900 will be available around the world in a DC-HSPA variant for high speed data connection in countries where LTE is not available, in which Europe and China are being expected to be included.

Apparently, the Nokia Lumia 900, which has a 4.3 inch ClearBlack AMOLED display, is priced at 480 euros (around $645) and is also being expected to begin shipping in the second quarter of 2012; will be available in white, cyan, and black.
