No Classes Today, June 9, 2011: DepEd Issues Suspension Due To Heavy Rains

All primary to high school classes in the National Capital Region were suspended today, June 9, 2011, according to a DZMM radio report this morning.

The report said that the Department of Education (DepEd) has declared the suspension of classes due to the continuous rains experienced since Wednesday.

In other reports, classes in all levels were also suspended in Batangas City and Bauan. Atty. Victor Reginald Dimacuha posted on Facebook, as early as last night, that there will be no classes in all levels in the City. He added that an Executive Order, declaring the suspension, will be issued by Batangas City Mayor Vilma Abaya Dimacuha early this morning.

According to PAGASA, a low pressure area in Calapan, Oriental Mindoro has brought about heavy rains in the Southern Tagalog area and Metro Manila since Wednesday.
