Nissan 2010 Recall due to faulty engine system

According to a BBC News report, Nissan is recalling two million vehicles due to a faulty engine control system. The Japanese car company will recall nine models that includes: Cube, March and Tida.

The vehicles that will be recalled are those manufactured between 2003 to 2006 in Japan, United States, Europe, Canada, China and Taiwan.

Majority of the vehicles to be recalled are in Japan and North America.

The following is the breakdown of the number of vehicles to be recalled:

  • Europe – 354,170 units
  • Japan – 834,759 units
  • US and Canada – 762,000 units
  • China and Taiwan – 194,409

Part of the recall process is that Nissan will replace the defective parts of a particular model. The engine problem may cause a running vehicle to stop.
