Nik Wallenda successfully walked on a tightrope across the Niagara Falls on Friday, June 15, 2012, international news sites reported that day.
According to reports, Wallenda, who is a member of the famous “Flying Wallendas” family of aerialists, completed his journey of 1,800 feet across the Niagara Falls for about 25 minutes walking on a 2-inch (5-cm) cable.
“There was no way to focus on the movement of the cable. If I looked down at the cable there was water moving everywhere. And if I looked up there was heavy mist blowing in front of my face. So it was a very unique, a weird sensation,” Wallenda was quoted as saying in the reports.
This is the first time that the stunt has been attempted. Wallenda reportedly said that this is his childhood dream. “I feel like I’m on cloud nine right now,” Wallenda told reporters after accomplishing the stunt.
