NFL: Madonna will perform at Super Bowl XLVI halftime

Singer Madonna will perform at Bridgestone’s Super Bowl XLVI halftime, which will be held on February 5, 2012, at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

According to the press release by the National Football League (NFL) on its official news site on Sunday, December 4, 2011, Madonna will be flanked by Cirque du Soleil performers for her upcoming performance at Super Bowl.

In addition, the “Material Girl” singer will also team up with choreographer Jamie King and artists from Moment Factory for her number during the halftime of Super Bowl XLVI, to be broadcast worldwide on NBC.

The NFL also announced the news that day during NBC‘s “Sunday Night Football” game between the Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints, where the latter won for the 4th straight time, 31-17.

As reported earlier, Madonna attended the Venice Film Festival 2011 to promote her second directorial film “W.E.” and thanked her former husbands, Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie for their support.

Madonna, 53, born Madonna Louise Ciccone, who is currently being linked with a 24-year old French dancer named Brahim Zaibat, is working on a new album with a single called ‘Gimme All Your Love‘.

As of this writing, the 80’s iconic singer has sold over 300 million records worldwide and was noted by Guinness World Records as the world’s top selling female artist of all time.
