NFL 2012 Playoff Steelers vs Broncos result: Denver wins in OT, Ike Taylor apologizes via Twitter

Denver Broncos won over the Pittsburgh Steelers in overtime (29-23), on the first game of the National Football League (NFL) AFC wildcard playoff football game in Denver, Colorado, on Sunday, January 8, 2012.

As noted at US new sites on Sunday night, Denver Broncos made a surprise win over Pittsburgh Steelers, with an 80-yard touchdown strike from quarterback Tim Tebow in overtime. Ike Taylor later apologized for the loss via Twitter.

“First off congrats too tebow and the broncosPittsburgh Steelers‘ defensive back player Ike Taylor (@Ike_SwagginU) tweeted, who refused to speak with the press after the game.

“Second I apologize for playing the worst game at the wrong time apologize to my teammates steelernation and family. Luv y’all to def” Taylor added, in which the Steelers reportedly being heavily favored in that match.

According to reports, Denver Broncos, which now advances to the second round of the NFL 2012 playoffs, is celebrating its first playoff win since 2005, with Tim Tebow, also throwing a career high 316 yards and two touchdowns including the 80-yard TD at overtime, connected by Demaryius Thomas.

“I don’t think it’s the first time our offense has clicked … but I thought the timing was great. We had struggled over the last couple weeks and a lot of that progress was because of our quarterback,” Denver Broncos coach John Fox told the press after the game.

During the second quarter, Denver‘s Eddie Royal made a TD on a 30-yard pass by Tebow, who also run an 8-yard run touchdown, putting the Broncos on the lead, 14-6, with his team able to add more field goals and took the lead in the halftime, 20-6.

On the other hand, Steelers‘ playmaker Ben Roethlisberger, who completed 22 of 40 for 289 yards and one touchdown, made a 31-yard touchdown pass to Jerricho Cotchery, which tied the game with three minutes 48 seconds remaining and eventually send it into overtime.

The entire Denver Broncos team will be facing Tom Brady and the New England Patriots for the second round of the NFL 2012 playoffs, which will be this coming Saturday, Jan. 14.
