News Corp launches ‘The Daily’ digital newspaper for iPad, now available at iTunes

News Corporation has just launched ‘The Daily’, a daily digital newspaper exclusively designed for iPad, and is now available at iTunes.

The latest Apple app, ‘The Daily’, was launched at the Guggenheim Museum in New York on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, which was headed by Rupert Murdoch, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of News Corporation.

“New times demand new journalism. So we built The Daily completely from scratch — on the most innovative device to come about in my time — the iPad.” Rupert Murdoch said.

“It’s incredible to believe that something of this production value can be done every single day,” Apple iTunes head Eddy Cue said at the event.

As noted at NewsCorp.com, the subscription fee will be $0.99 cents a week or $39.99 a year, in which TheDaily.com will be publishing up to 100 pages each day.

There will be six key areas for posting which includes, news, opinion, sports, arts and life, gossip and celebrity, as well as apps and games; while 360 photos can be interacted with, using only fingers to move them.

Meanwhile, a free subscription will be available for the first two weeks which will be courtesy of Verizon, while ‘The Daily’ app is being planned to be available also in other platforms.
