The latest New ZealandUFO sightings’ which was witnessed on Sunday, Boxing Day on that country, was said to be similar to the mysterious Kaikoura lights which were seen and filmed in 1978, according to a news site in New Zealand.

As published on Stuff.co.nz on Tuesday, a set of ‘orangey and reddish lights’ were spotted in skies in three different areas namely Taranaki, Napier, and Christchurch, all in New Zealand on Sunday night.

Coincidentally, these lights were also seen by a man who made a film apparently showing the same mysterious flying objects nearly about 32 years ago.

Apparently, the first ‘UFO sighting’ was encountered in Hawera, Taranaki, by a man named Allan White at around 9:40 p.m., whose family also watched the ‘bright orange light’ for about five minutes until they disappeared.

Shortly after 10 p.m, a man by the name of Fraser Duncan, a graphics tutor from the Eastern Institute of Technology in Napier, claimed that he saw the same set of orange lights, and said that the strange lights were not producing any sound which convinced him that they were airplanes.

On the other hand, TVNZ cameraman Lloyd McFadden from Christchurch also told the news that he saw the same mysterious lights at about 10:30 p.m. on the same Sunday night.

But interestingly, McFadden was the same man who filmed a ‘UFO sighting’ on December 30, 1978 near Kaikoura, when he was just 27 years old, in which similar ‘orange and soundless lights’ have appeared.

However, Canterbury Astronomical Society observatory director Adrian Kelly told the news that he is very much convinced that the lights that appeared in Christchurch were simply satellites.
