New Nike Air Jordan XX8 shoes launched, to go on sale on February 2013 for $250 (Photo and Video)

Jordan Brand, a division of Nike, Inc., unveiled on Monday, December 3, 2012 its new Nike Air Jordan XX8 shoes, as shown in the photo and video below, which will go on sale on February 2013 for a suggested retail price (SRP) of $250, and will be the 28th shoe in the Air Jordan franchise.

According to a press release by Nike Inc. on its official website that day, the Air Jordan XX8 will be available on Friday, February 15, 2013 in Houston only, and then across the US on Saturday, February 16. This latest Nike shoes are being noted to be the most tested and lightest Air Jordan shoes ever.

As noted in the announcement, the Air Jordan XX8 is a Dynamic Fit technology that uses internal straps to wrap up from the middle of the sole and combine with the shoe laces for lightweight support that moves with the foot, which will provide additional lockdown comfort and support.

“The Air Jordan XX8 is a reflection of Jordan Brand‘s progression in the name of basketball performance. This newest iteration of our franchise shoe will further solidify Jordan Brand‘s premium and innovative position within the industry.” Larry Miller, President of Jordan Brand, was quoted in the report.

Meanwhile, a writer of Sole Collector, a leading sneaker magazine, was present during its launch in New York on Monday, where movie director Spike Lee, along with Air Jordan XX8 designers Tinker Hatfield and Josh Heard, discussed the new Air Jordan shoes in front of the crowd.

“I don’t think of these as basketball shoes. I think of them as objects of art and design that happen to be used for basketball.” – TinkerSole Collector (@SoleCollector) tweeted, adding that the Oklahoma City Thunder‘s Russell Westbrook will debut the Air Jordan XX8 in a game vs the Brooklyn Nets this Tuesday.
