Apple has unveiled its new generation of MacBook Pro during the 2012 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco, California on Monday, June 11, 2012.

Based on an Apple press release, the all new 15-inch MacBook Pro features a Retina display, all flash storage and quad-core processors all packed in a thin and light design. The new MacBook Pro is a mere 0.71 inches thick and weighs only 4.46 pounds.

According to Apple, the Retina display on the new MacBook Pro is the world’s highest resolution notebook display with over 5 million pixels, 3 million more than an HD television. Apple revealed that the Retina display uses IPS technology to provide a 178-degree wide viewing angle, with 75 percent less reflection and 29 percent higher contrast over the previous models of the MacBook Pro.

The MacBook Pro now has Flash storage that is up to four times faster than traditional notebook hard drives.

The new generation of MacBook Pro features the latest Intel Core i7 quad-core processors up to 2.7 GHz with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.7 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M discrete graphics, up to 16GB of faster 1600 MHz RAM and flash storage up to 768GB.

The side of the MacBook Pro has two Thunderbolt ports, two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port and a redesigned thinner MagSafe 2 power port.

The battery life of the new MacBook Pro can last up to 7 hours and can be recharged up to 1,000 times with Apple‘s advanced chemistry and Adaptive Charging technology.

Other features in the new MacBook Pro include FaceTime HD camera, glass Multi-Touch™ trackpad, full-size backlit keyboard, dual microphones, enhanced speakers, 3-stream 802.11n Wi-Fi.
