George Edwards, a dedicated Nessie hunter, released a photograph of what he claimed to be the Loch Ness monster, international news sites reported on Friday, August 3, 2012.

The photograph was said to be taken on November 2, 2011 from the deck of his boat named “Nessie Hunter.”

“It was slowly moving up the loch towards Urquhart Castle and it was a dark grey colour. It was quite a fair way from the boat, probably about half a mile away but it’s difficult to tell in water,” Edwards reportedly said.

Reports said that Edwards waited to release the photograph until it had been examined by “experts.”

“I did not want to mention my sighting until I was sure that I had not photographed a log or something inanimate in the water. I have friends in the USA who have friends in the military. They had my photo analysed and they have no doubt that I photographed an animate object in the water.I was really excited as I am sure that some strange creatures are lurking in the depths of Loch Ness,” Edwards was quoted as saying by The Inverness Courier.

“I think the images are fantastic — that’s the animal I have been looking for all this time,” Steve Feltham, a person hunting for Nessie for the past 21 years, reportedly said after looking at the photo.

“It is the best photograph I think I have ever seen,” Feltham added.

The photo can be viewed at The Telegraph.
