The new iPhone will have larger screen if rumors circulating on blogs and news sites this week are true.

According to reports from several technology blogs and news sites, Apple plans to use a larger screen that measures 4 inches from corner to corner on the next-generation iPhone. This is about 30 percent increase in viewing area than the original 3.5-inch screen that Apple has used since introducing iPhone in 2007.

Furthermore, reports said that Apple has begun placing orders for the larger screen on suppliers in Japan and South Korea. Production of the new screens was said to have already begun at Korea’s LG Display Co Ltd, Sharp Corp and Japan Display Inc.

Apple‘s decision to create larger screen for the next-generation iPhone was first reported by The Wall Street Journal.
