Incumbent Republican Sen. Dean Heller won against Democratic challenger Rep. Shelley Berkley to retain the Nevada Senate seat, the Nevada Secretary of State‘s website reportedly confirmed on Wednesday, November 7, 2012.

It was a tight race as Heller was leading Berkley 45.9% to 44.7% with 98% of precincts reporting. However, Berkley conceded early Wednesday as results continued to show Heller would be the winner.

According to reports, Heller was a Nevada Secretary of State for three terms starting in 1995, after serving two terms as a member of the Nevada State Assembly.

Meanwhile, his opponent, Berkley is a seven-term Congresswoman from Nevada’s 1st District, reports said.
