“I shouldn’t be the story. The important thing is the president’s policy today, which could have a significant impact on American workers. I asked a question about that. Admittedly, it was in the middle of his speech. I thought he was ending his speech — his statement — but then I asked a question at the end and he turned his back on the reporters and walked away.” Neil Munro told Daily Caller‘s Nicholas Ballasy.
“Sometimes he takes questions. He took a question on Trayvon Martin in March. Sometimes these shouted questions at the end work — not today: He refused to answer an obvious and conventional question about the impact of his policy on American workers at a time of record unemployment.” Munro added.
“I always go to the White House prepared with questions for our president. I timed the question believing the president was closing his remarks, because naturally I have no intention of interrupting the President of the United States.” Munro was quoted in a separated statement.
“I know he rarely takes questions before walking away from the podium. When I asked the question as he finished his speech, he turned his back on the many reporters, and walked away while I and at least one other reporter asked questions.” Munro explained further.
“Why do you favor foreigners over Americans?” Neil Munro suddenly asked President Obama during his speech at the White House Rose Garden, who replied, “Excuse me, sir, but it’s not time for questions,” and “Not while I’m speaking” when asked if he will be taking questions, and continued his speech.
Neil Munro, on his official Twitter account (@NeilMunroDC), described himself as being born Irish, then became a Cold War bridegroom, and previously worked at Defense News, Washington Technology, and then 10 years at National Journal before being a Daily Caller reporter.
