Ndamukong Suh of Detroit Lions was caught allegedly stomping on Evan Dietrich-Smith of Green Bay Packers last Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, and was ejected from the game.

As shown in the video below, Suh, wearing #90, got tangled with Packers‘ offensive lineman Dietrich-Smith during the last 9:16 in the third quarter, held at the Ford Field, in Detroit.

Both players went to the ground and it appeared that Suh pressed Dietrich-Smith‘s head into the grass three times, got up and apparently stomped on his right arm as he walked away from the pile.

Ndamukong Suh was penalized and ejected from the game, with the Packers getting an automatic first down. The Lions vs Packers game ended, with the Packers winning, 27-15, and was the eighth straight loss for the Lions.

After the game, the 24-year old NFL player defended his actions and insisted that it is not his intention to kick anyone during the game, noting that league officials “misinterpreted” his stomp.

“My intention was not to kick anybody, as I did not, removing myself.” Ndamukong Suh was quoted on reports, denying that what he happened was not intentional. “What I did was remove myself from the situation the best way I felt, with me being held down.”

However, the Detroit Lions released a statement, expressing their disappointment over Suh‘s action during the Thanksgiving game and noted that it was “unacceptable”.

“The on-field conduct exhibited by Ndamukong Suh that led to his ejection from yesterday’s game was unacceptable and failed to meet the level of sportsmanship we expect from our players,” A statement reads at DetroitLions.com.

Ndamukong has made many positive contributions to the Lions on and off the field. We expect his behavior going forward to consistently reflect that high standard of professionalism.” The statement added.

Meanwhile, the NFL is now looking on the incident and might release a decision next week, with the Lions noting that Suh could face a possible suspension and a fine if proven guilty.

Later, Ndamukong Suh apologized for what happened and used his Facebook page to express how sorry he was. He said he had a time reflecting his actions during the game and admitted they were unacceptable.
