NBA Playoffs: Miami Heat Leads 2012 NBA East Finals, 2-0

The Miami Heat rallied to win Game 2 of the 2012 NBA Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics, 115-111, in overtime on Wednesday night, May 30, 2012 at the American Airlines Arena, Miami, FL, as published at NBA.com. The Heat now leads the NBA Playoffs best of seven series against the Celtics, 2-0.

LeBron James led Miami with 34 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Dwyane Wade scored eight of his 23 points in overtime and Mario Chalmers contributed 22 points for the Heat. Udonis Haslem added 13 points and 11 rebounds for Miami.

It was an ugly win for Miami as they trailed Boston by 15 points in the first half and missed 16 free throws in the entire game. James was 7-for-20 from the field and Wade went scoreless until the final seconds of the first half.

Rajon Rondo led all scorers with a career-high 44 points. He dished off 10 assists and pulled down eight rebounds for Boston. Rondo, who played the entire 53-minutes of the game, reportedly scored all 12 of Boston‘s overtime points. Paul Pierce scored 21 points for the Celtics before fouling out in regulation. Kevin Garnett had 18 points and eight rebounds while Ray Allen finished the game with 13 points for Boston.

Reports say that no Celtics team has ever come back from a 0-2 deficit in an NBA Playoffs since 1969.

Game 3 of the 2012 NBA Eastern Conference Finals is scheduled on Friday night, June 1 at the TD Garden, Boston, MA.
