NBA Playoffs: Miami Heat Wins Game 5 vs Boston Celtics, Advances To 2011 NBA East Finals

Miami Heat advances to the 2011 NBA Eastern Conference Finals with a victory over the Boston Celtics, 97-87, in Game 5 of the 2011 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals on Wednesday night, according to a report by NBA.com.  The Heat wins the best-of-seven series against the Celtics, 4-1. They will now await the result of the Chicago Bulls vs Atlanta Hawks series. Chicago leads the series 3-2.

Dwyane Wade scored 34 points and LeBron James added 33 to rally the Heat past the Celtics with a 16-0 run to end the game. Chris Bosh contributed 14 points and 11 rebounds for Miami.

Boston was led by Ray Allen with 18 points. Kevin Garnett had 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Paul Pierce and Delonte West added 12 and 10 points respectively.

Celtics point guard, Rajon Rondo, played with an injured elbow and scored six points in 31 minutes for Boston.

Good defense by the Celtics gave them the lead for the first three quarters.

However, James delivered the game’s final 10 points to give Miami their fourth trip to the East finals and their first since 2006.
