Dirk Nowitzki anchored a fourth quarter Dallas Mavericks rally that led to series clinching victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder, 100-96, on Wednesday night, May 25, 2011, according to a report at NBA.com. (For the complete schedule of the NBA Finals, click here)

The Mavericks crawled back from a seven point deficit with less than six minutes to play and beat the Thunder.

The Mavericks, which came back from a 15-point deficit in the last five minutes and won Game 4 in overtime Monday in Oklahoma City, finished Game 5 with a 17-6 run.

Nowitzki and Shawn Marion scored 26 points apiece for the Mavericks.

Russel Westbrook led the Thunder offense with 31 points. Kevin Durant added 23 points for OKC.

Dallas victory ends the 2011 NBA Western Finals best-of-seven series against OKC, 4-1.

The Mavericks advances to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2006 and its second time in club history.

They now await the winner of the Heat vs Bulls 2011 NBA Eastern Conference Finals, to determine their opponent in the 2011 NBA Finals.
