NBA fines Avery Johnson $25,000 For Improper Conduct in Nets vs 76ers Game

In an official news posted on Friday, February 4, 2011 at NBA.com, Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President for Basketball Operations announced that New Jersey Nets head coach Avery Johnson was fined $25,000 for his improper conduct towards a game official during the New Jersey Nets vs Philadelphia 76ers game on February 2 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Johnson was ejected in 7:47 mark of the third quarter after receiving his second technical from referee Brent Barnaky. He was arguing over what he believed was a non-call on Sixers forward Elton Brand. The Nets’ head coach walked off the court while fans chants his name.

The Sixers won the game against the Nets,106-92.
