The Miami Heat rallied in the fourth quarter, to win Game 1 of the 2011 NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks, 92-84 on Tuesday night at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida, according to a report at NBA.com.

LeBron James led the Heat with 24 points and nine rebounds, while Dwyane Wade added 22 points and 10 rebounds. Chris Bosh scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki led his team with 27 points, but was limited to a 7 of 18 field goal shooting. Shawn Marion added 16 points and 10 rebounds for Dallas.

The Heat now lead the best-of-seven series versus the Mavericks, 1-0.

Miami made a run late in the third quarter to erase an eight point deficit and end the quarter four points ahead of Dallas.

It was a defensive game all throughout as Miami shot 38 percent from the field against Dallas‘ 37 percent. In the battle of the boards, the Heat grabbed 46 rebounds while the Mavs only had 36. The Heat had a 16-6 advantage in the offensive boards. Miami also shot better from the three point range as they shot 11 of 24 against Dallas‘ 9 of 22.

The Game 1 victory is the Heat‘s 9th straight at home in the postseason.

Game 2 will be played on Thursday at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida at 9 pm ET.
