As featured at ESPN on Thursday night, Anthony Davis was picked by the New Orleans Hornets, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who is also from Kentucky, was selected by the Charlotte Bobcats, and Bradley Beal of Florida Gators was chosen by the Washington Wizards.
Davis, 19, who stands at 6’10” and plays as a power forward for the University of Kentucky and led the NBA Draft 2012 favorites, was called by NBA Commissioner David Stern and shook his hand, after hugging his friend and former team mate Kidd-Gilchrist, who was the second one to be called.
“It’s crazy. Michael is a great player. We have two down and four more to go. Hopefully, all of them will go in the first round.” Davis was quoted in reports, after Kidd-Gilchrist was selected, with the Kentucky being the first school to have the first two NBA Draft players.
Meanwhile, Bradley Beal, the shooting guard of University of Florida, was chosen by Washington Wizards, and was followed by Dion Waiters of Syracuse as picked by Cleveland Cavaliers. Thomas Robinson of University of Kansas landed as fifth, while Damian Lillard of Weber State was next and went to Portland Trail Blazers.
