NBA All Star Game 2011 Update: Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard leads ballot

The NBA official press release posted at NBA.com on January 6, 2011, showed that the leaders in the 2011 NBA All-Star Balloting are Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers and Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic in the Western Conference and Eastern Conference, respectively. Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder followed the Lakers superstar in the West lineup, while LeBron James of the Miami Heat is second to the Magic Superman in the East team.

Bryant lead all players with 1,391,597 votes after the third returns of the 2011 NBA All-Star Balloting presented by T-Mobile. He won the All Star MVP award three times, in 2002, 2007 and 2009.

Top vote-getter players in the Western Conference for the 2011 NBA All Star Game:

  1. Kobe Bryant
  2. Kevin Durant (945,944)
  3. Yao Ming (754,583)
  4. Chris Paul (724,605)
  5. Carmelo Anthony (742,284)

Top vote-getter players in the Eastern Conference for the 2011 NBA All Star Game:

  1. Dwight Howard (1,205,159 votes)
  2. LeBron James All-Star MVP in 2006 and 2008 (1,194,091)
  3. Dwyane Wade All-Star Game MVP in 2010 (1,167,649)
  4. Rajon Rondo (929,781)
  5. Kevin Garnett All Star MVP in 2003 (850,687)

The week leading to the 60th NBA All-Star Game of 2011 will feature the following activities:

TheĀ 2011 NBA All-Star Game will be will be played at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California on Sunday, February 20, 2011. This will be the fifth time that the All-Star game will be played in LA. It will be aired live on TNT and ESPN Radio in the U.S., and simulcast in more than 200 countries and territories in more than 40 languages.
