Utah JazzJeremy Evans was declared the 2012 NBA Sprite Slam Dunk Contest winner on Saturday, February 25, 2012, as part of the NBA All-Star 2012 Weekend, with a video of his winning 2-ball dunk during the second round available below.

As featured at TNT on Saturday night, which was also shown at ABS-CBN Studio 23 in Manila on Sunday morning, Jeremy Evans won against three other contestants, which was held at the AmWay Center in Orlando, Florida, and was chosen by 29% of all the text messages from NBA fans.

Apparently, the four participants in the 2012 NBA Sprite Slam Dunk Contest were all first timers in this contest, wherein fan votes via cellphone text and online at NBA.com and via Twitter with the hashtag #SpriteSlam, as the total votes reportedly reach to about 3 million.

The four participants this year are Houston RocketsChase Budinger, Indiana PacersPaul George; Minnesota TimberwolvesDerrick Williams and Utah JazzJeremy Evans, who replaced New York KnicksIman Shumpert due to injury.

During the first round, Jeremy Evans, who had a camera on his head, registered 37 in the dunk intensity measuring scale, which is also a new feature in the 2012 NBA Sprite Slam Dunk Contest.

During the second round, Evans jammed two basketballs thrown up in the air by seated teammate Gordon Hayward, while George made his slam dunk shot with all the lights off, and Williams made a 360-slam dunk after teammate Ricky Rubio bounced it off the side of the backboard.

During the third round, Evans jumped over mailman-dressed comedian Kevin Hart, while wearing a Moses Malone jersey, while George dedicated his shot to NBA icon Larry Bird but failed four times and succeeded only in his fifth try.

Earlier, Minnesota TimberwolvesKevin Love won the 2012 Foot Locker Three Point Contest in a tiebreaker round against Oklahoma City Thunder‘s Kevin Durant; while San Antonio SpursTony Parker won the Parker Taco Bell Skills Challenge.
