National Weather Service forecast on Texas Severe Weather due to Monster Winter Storm

The National Weather Service latest weather forecast, issued on its website, shows that a massive Winter storm will affect a wide area of the Great Plains and Midwest.

According to the report, the NOAA has already issued a large swath of blizzard warnings, winter storm warnings, freezing rain advisories, and winter weather advisories.

The winter storm monitoring stretched from new Mexico and the Southern Plains northeastward through the Midwest and into the upper Mid-Atlantic and New England.

The Monster winter storm is expected to bring heavy snow fall and freezing cold weather that may affect millions of people.

…WINTER STORM TO IMPACT NEW MEXICO AND FAR WEST TEXAS WITH SNOW
AND VERY COLD TEMPERATURES….

A VERY STRONG ARCTIC COLD FRONT WILL PUSH THROUGH THE REGION
FROM THE EAST AND USHER IN THE COLDEST TEMPERATURES OF THE
SEASON. IN ADDITION AN UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL ENTER
THE SOUTHERN ROCKY MOUNTAINS FROM THE WEST. THIS WEATHER PATTERN
WILL BRING VERY COLD TEMPERATURES…SNOW AND STRONG WINDS TO THE
BORDERLAND. TOTAL SNOW AMOUNTS WILL RANGE FROM 6 TO 12 INCHES
ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS…WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS TO 20 INCHES
OVER EASTERN SLOPES. 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE OVER THE
LOWLANDS… WITH UP TO 6 INCHES OVER SIERRA AND OTERO COUNTIES.
TEMPERATURES WILL PLUNGE TO AROUND 30 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL…AND
THE COMBINATION OF GUSTY WINDS AND COLD TEMPERATURES WILL PUSH
WIND CHILL TEMPERATURES WELL BELOW ZERO ACROSS SOME LOCATIONS.

ISSUED A WIND CHILL ADVISORY…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT
TONIGHT TO NOON MST WEDNESDAY. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS
IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM MST WEDNESDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…GENERAL SNOW AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE
EXPECTED.

* TEMPERATURES…DANGEROUSLY COLD TEMPERATURES WITH MORNING LOWS
7-15 DEGREES AND DAYTIME HIGHS WARMING ONLY INTO THE TEENS AND
20S. THE COMBINATION OF GUSTY WINDS AND COLD AIR MAY PUSH WIND
CHILLS AS LOW AS 10 BELOW ZERO.

* WINDS…EAST TO NORTHEAST AT 25 TO 35 MPH. GUSTS TO 60 MPH
POSSIBLE ALONG PORTIONS OF WESTERN SLOPES.

* IMPACTS…SNOW WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR EVEN LIFE
THREATENING DUE TO ICY ROADS AND LOW VISIBILITIES. BRUTALLY
COLD TEMPERATURES WITH WIND CHILLS AS LOW AS 10 BELOW ZERO
WILL MAKE OUTDOOR ACTIVITY QUITE DANGEROUS.
