The 2012 New York Auto Show (N.Y. Auto Show), which started on Friday, April 6, 2012, featured some of the latest cars including the 2013 Nissan Altima and 2014 Nissan NV200 Taxi, as shown in the photo below.

As noted at US news sites that day, the new cars mentioned above were considered as among the big winners during the start of the N.Y. Auto Show 2012, now being held at the Javits Convention Center in Manhattan, and will run until Sunday, April 15.

According to Nissan, the 2013 Nissan Altima is loaded with four-cylinder engine (2.5-liter inline-four and 3.5-liter V6) and has a projected gas mileage of 38 miles per gallon; and is also being considered as the lightest of its kind. Its exterior promises a powerful presence and improved aerodynamics.

The 2013 Nissan Altima is also noted as the first Nissan car that offers NissanConnectSM, which offers Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System and Streaming Audio via Bluetooth, along with available integrated Hands-Free Messaging Assistant, Pandora integration.

Meanwhile, Nissan also unveiled the 2014 Nissan NV 200, which will be the next taxi of New York City, as announced by New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg last May, after it won as ‘Taxi of Tomorrow‘ as well as a 10-year $1-billion contract.

“The Nissan NV 200 unveiled today will be the safest, most comfortable and most convenient taxi the City has ever had. New York City cabs have always been iconic, and now they will set a new standard.” Mayor Bloomberg was quoted during the press conference on the pre-event show.

Among the noted safety features of the 2014 Nissan NV 200 Taxi includes having front and rear-seat occupant curtain airbag, sliding doors to lessen risk of pedestrians and motorists being hit when the door open unexpectedly.
